Ownership Society

PNAM is completely behind President Bush's concept of an "ownership society" and the reform of the Social Security system. Removing the government's involvement from providing retirement benefits is an excellent step towards a pre-1929 social fabric. The FDR New Deal, instated after the Great Depression, sent this country into a downward spiral of more social programs and bigger government requirements to provide a safety net for the people. PNAM, along with all conversatives, feels it is not the job of the government to provide for the people. Social Security should be eliminated, and Bush's private investment account strategy is just the first step to this end. Before 1929, everyone was on his own to succeed or fail, a trait of a true democracy. Karl Rove, the architect of Bush's plan is the only one with enough conviction to make this bold move. One day, God's plan for a society where invididuals take responsibility for their own well being may become a reality.
